Personal elder companionship in Kakkanad

A familiar face.
A daughter’s warmth.

Heartfelt time, conversation and companionship for elderly parents living on their own — offered personally, one family at a time.

Why Sneha Visits

Because care is practical.
But love is personal.

Elderly parents are increasingly staying alone in Kerala as their children move elsewhere in India or abroad to build their futures.

Even with the best intentions, work commitments and children’s education can make frequent visits difficult. Money can arrange home nurses, doctor visits and every practical need — but the emotional support parents crave in their later years is something different.

Companionship, a patient listener, and someone nearby with whom they can share everyday worries without burdening their children: this is the gap I hope to fill in my own small way for families around Edachira and Kakkanad.

About me

It began simply — by enjoying their company.

Out of personal interest, I began meeting an elderly mother and another lady living alone close to my home. I found myself looking forward to every visit, and they welcomed me into their lives, sharing the small worries and stories of their days.

Caregivers may change, but as a permanent resident nearby, I can offer a reassuring sense of continuity. I am over 40 and live with my husband and our two college-going daughters in our own home in Edachira, Kakkanad.

I would be happy to become part of a family’s trusted circle — getting to know the children and relatives, helping relationships stay close, and being available by phone when I am not there in person.

“I like the interaction — and perhaps that joy rubs off on them too.”

What I would love to do

Half a day that feels
like family time.

Once a week, from around 8 AM to 1 PM, I spend unhurried time doing whatever a daughter might naturally do when she visits home.

01

Talk & listen

Share stories, hear the day’s small concerns and offer warm, attentive company.

02

Stay connected

Get to know the wider family and help parents feel close to children and relatives.

03

Offer continuity

Be a familiar local presence and remain reachable by phone beyond weekly visits.

My circle stays intentionally small

I can visit only three or four homes at most, so each relationship receives genuine time and attention. On an occasional class-free day, I hope families may also be comfortable with one of my daughters accompanying me.

I discovered this passion later in life — and now hope to study for a BA in Psychology alongside it.

A little more about me

I married young and did not continue my education after completing my Plus Two vocational course with first class. Today, part-time study is helping me return to learning with a deeper sense of purpose.

The money part

Simple, personal
and transparent.

Before I associate with your family, I would like to speak with the son or daughter, understand your parents’ routines, and make sure the relationship feels right for everyone.

Personal references from families I know are available during our conversation.
